Last night, we drove the long 1.5 miles to the Round Rock Express baseball field that's just south of our house. We take for granted that we're so close to this minor-league baseball field, but last night helped make us realize how awesome it really is!
The Round Rock Express is the minor-league team for the Houston Astros... and honestly, the field is in jogging distance from our house. On Friday nights, they set off the most spectacular fireworks show you've ever seen; it's quite honestly better than the July 4th fireworks the City of Round Rock sets off once a year... and we get to witness the baseball fireworks EVERY SINGLE FRIDAY NIGHT! Love it!
We enrolled Austin in "Spike's Kids Club", so he got a cool t-shirt, backpack, and tickets to 10 home games. The tickets get all of us in (and Kaylee is free), so it's a cheap family night out! BUT... last night was $1 hot dog & soda night... that's where we got into trouble! Justin ate 4 hot dogs, I ate 3, Austin & Kaylee each had 1 a piece... and Justin & I both had 2 cokes each. OOPS! Then again, dinner & entertainment for only $13 wasn't too shabby!
Austin was SO excited to be at the baseball game, and he & Kaylee loved playing on the berm. It was a GORGEOUS evening and I don't think we could've picked a prettier day to be sitting there watching our home team!! (We enjoyed it so much that we're going back tomorrow night! Whoo-hoo!!)
