Austin hanging out in the water by the boat
Last Friday, we packed up & headed to Lake Austin; Justin was having the boat trailer worked on & repainted, so we had to find somewhere to keep the boat in the water all weekend...hence the weekend camping trip. We found the BEST camping space under lots of big trees right on the water & sat up our tent & camping gear. We all slept in our tent together on Friday night (and realized that we need a larger tent to accommodate all 4 of us now!); Austin slept with me on the full-size blow-up mattress on one side of the tent, Justin slept by himself on a single blow-up mattress on the other side of the tent...and Kaylee slept on a bunch of quilts on the ground in between our "beds". The kids both slept GREAT -- Kaylee actually slept 10+ hours that night (why she always waits to do that while we're camping, I don't know), and Austin snored most of the night, so I knew he was sleeping well too.
Justin & the kids after their first night of camping
Saturday afternoon was Emma's 2nd Birthday Party, so me & the kids came back home for her party & then spent the night here...while Justin & his friend, Randy, stayed in their tents at the camp. Me & the kids drove back down on Sunday morning to join them again.
Austin by the water at our camp
We ended up camping out Sunday night as well, then packed up our camp on Monday morning. We didn't end up getting to leave the lake until around 9pm that night (since our boat trailer's new paint was still drying, Justin couldn't pick it up until around 7pm...), so we were all exhausted. To top it all off, Austin fell off of the concrete picnic table right before we were going to load the boat onto the trailer & skinned/bumped the back of his head. Blood started coming out of his head, but Justin was quick (and calm, as usual) to examine it to make sure that it wasn't anything major. Thank the good Lord that it was just a bump & a little blood -- nothing that some fresh water, an ice pack & some Motrin couldn't cure.
Kaylee's newest trick -- turning over in her bouncer! She looks proud, doesn't she?!

Maybe one of these days we can meet up there and go camping together. I think Austin and Bailey would get a kick out of each other, and the more I read about Justin the more I realize he's a lot like Chris. Even if we're not related, us Hams have got to stick together!
