I took Austin to his first dental visit on Friday. He has been complaining about a tooth hurting for the past few weeks & after realizing that it was always the tooth that is chipped, we decided that it was time for a visit with Dr. Hoffman.
Austin did GREAT. The nurse wanted to take an X-Ray of his chipped tooth, and after three tries, they finally got a good enough shot. He was a trooper & decided he really liked the X-Ray shield "bib" that they put over him during the X-Ray; he laughed every time they laid it on him!
Dr. Hoffman looked at the X-Ray & everything seemed to be fine! The nurse was afraid that the tooth was dying (she thought it looked a little different in color than the others), but the X-Ray confirmed that it is not dying & that it's still a very healthy tooth. We even got to see his "adult" teeth that are in waiting up in his gums -- they're HUGE! Poor little guy had better get some more years on him before those decide to start popping through!
We didn't schedule a cleaning or anything yet; we'll do that in another year or so. But, Dr. Hoffman thought he did a great job & took him to the treasure chest where Austin got to pick out a few new stickers & a cool yo-yo for his job well done. He was pretty excited...

Wow! Bailey's already had 4-5 cleanings. Glad Austin was so brave and that his tooth is ok!
I'm so glad he loved it! Believe it or not, the dentist is one of Adam's favorite places to go and I am SOOOO thankful. I can't imagine how hard it would be if he were terrified of it.
