Easter Festivities

We were very busy this past Easter weekend, so I'm going to try to recap everything that we've done... here we go!!

After we got back from Krause Springs (see next blog post), we did the annual Easter Egg Hunt in our back yard for Emma & Austin.  They had a great time & found LOTS of eggs & surprises!

Saturday morning was the Round Rock Easter Egg Hunt at Old Settlers Park, which is just across the street from where we live.  There were HUNDREDS of kids lined up to hunt eggs in the cool weather, and Austin & Emma were both so excited to go find their share of them!  They actually both did great & found LOTS of eggs & candy to bring home... and even got to sit on the front of a fire truck & have their pictures made before we left!

Austin made a last-minute phone call to the Easter Bunny on Saturday afternoon; I had given Justin my work cell phone (he was in the garage working on the boat sound system) & told him to be the Easter Bunny & expect a phone call.  Well...Austin called him & quickly got tears in his eyes when he was talking to the "Easter Bunny" (aka Justin!).  Austin lost one of his favorite toy cars (from the movie "Cars") at Wal-Mart last week & was getting choked up telling the Easter Bunny about it; he asked the Easter Bunny to bring him another one & even told him that he'd seen the exact one he wanted at Wal-Mart.  It was too cute...

We went to church on Saturday night (our church is so big they had 5 services & asked everyone who attends regularly to skip Sunday morning church & go to one of their Saturday or Sunday night services to allow for more seating/parking for those who would come Sunday morning).  Our best friends, Brian & Leslie (and Emma), came with us, then we all went out to eat at Dos Salsas in Georgetown afterward.

Well...leave it to the Easter Bunny to always be in tune with what kids want, because, can you believe it -- Austin got his new car he requested!!  He was so excited to wake up Sunday morning & see what the Easter Bunny had brought him!!  He had a HUGE basket in the living room waiting for him filled with bubble makers, water toys, coloring books, candy, new toys & his new car!!  He was so excited....and pretty happy that he got to help Kaylee open her basket too!

Justin hid eggs in the house on Sunday morning for Austin's own personal Easter Egg Hunt in our living room.  He found them all very quickly & loved every minute of it!  (That made FIVE Egg Hunts he participated in this year!!)
Sunday afternoon called for some Easter Egg coloring -- a tradition that Justin started with Austin last year.  They had a great time...and then we ate some of the eggs along with our big lunch I cooked for us all!  Austin was just amazed that the eggs that we had just colored were the hard-boiled eggs that he loves to eat so much!  It was so cute to watch him put 2 & 2 together & figure that out!!

Kaylee didn't get to do much this Easter -- she found one egg at the Easter Egg hunt, and then had to watch Austin as he colored eggs, went through both of their baskets & then sorted out his candy for countless hours.  She is such a sweet girl & such a great sport -- she just smiles through it all & just waits until Austin will share some of his toys with her...
