Easter Extravaganza

We have had quite a week full of Easter festivities. Actually, it's lasted for over a week, so it's certainly been a fun time for the kids. Austin decided midweek last week that it was time to color Easter eggs. This is an annual tradition in our house, so he was anxious to see how his eggs turned out. He did a great job again this year...

Last Thursday was his Easter party & egg hunt at his preschool. Kaylee & I went there around 11:30 to meet up with him for the fun! When we got there, his class & the younger 3-year old class were all playing on the playground, so I snapped a few pictures of the kiddos playing...

Afterward, we headed to the pavilion & trees and had hot dogs and chips... picnic style! It was really fun & all of the kids really enjoyed getting to eat outside with their parents!

Next was the EGG HUNT! This picture is of Austin's class; he's in the "older 3's" class, simply because he misses the school cutoff by 8 days (cutoff is Aug 31, and his birthday is Sept 8). He is the next-to-the-oldest in his class, and has really enjoyed going to "school" this year...

(Austin is kind of in the back row in this picture, in between his two best friends, Landon & Rainer... look in the very center of the group of kids for my little man!)

After the egg hunt, it was time for cascarones! Now, you may be asking yourself, "What are cascarones?!" It's something that we've just learned about since moving to Texas. They are egg shells filled with confetti. At Easter, it's Mexican tradition to bust them over people's heads. Not sure what the whole history of them is... but regardless, kids LOVE it! Here are a few pictures of Austin's class enjoying cascarones at his party!

Austin had a great Easter party complete with hot dogs, an egg hunt & cascarones! Kaylee even got in on the action & found a few eggs herself! It was a fun day for all of us!
