Last night was Halloween & we had a great time trick-or-treating with our friends! Before it was time to hit the streets, we had about 17 of our friends over for pizza & play time. The kids had a blast getting all amped up for the big night, so we got them dressed up & headed out to our front yard to take pictures.
Austin was Woody this year & Kaylee was Snow White. She had wanted to be a Barbie Princess (which she also has a dress-up costume for), but it was too big; I think our second option ended up being super cute anyway!
Some of our other friends...
Rebecca came with her 2-month old baby, Mandy (in the cow costume); Mandy was the Chic-Fil-A cow & had a sign around her neck that said "Eat Mor Chikin". So cute! In the picture, Rebecca is holding Summer (in the jack-o-lantern bib), who is Leslie & Brian's newest addition.
Of course, there were the adorable Crook girls, Brynley (the bee) and Delaney (the witch). They are expecting girl #3, Kennedy, in early 2011.
And, who can forget the adorable Camden, the elephant! Camden's dad, Matt, brought him over to trick-or-treat with us, and it ended up being him & Kaylee in the wagon together. Camden's Mom, Meagan, is one of my good friends & just took a new job in Washington DC; she had flown out earlier yesterday to get ready for her first day of work in DC today, while her "boys" will be going out to meet her & live in DC with her in another 3 weeks. I'm so sad they're leaving... especially since we have an arranged marriage between Camden & Kaylee. ha
There was such a big group of us trick-or-treating together that we kinda branched off into two groups -- the bigger kids (including Austin) who ran ahead, and the little kids (including Kaylee) who could only hit about one house for every six that the big kids hit!
Here is Ariel (Emma) and Woody (Austin) trick-or-treating on our street...
And I LOVE this picture of Delaney, Emma & Austin all together -- cute kids!!
I love this picture of Camden & Kaylee too -- this may be frameable! LOVE IT!
By the end of the night, both kids got tired of trick-or-treating, so we headed home to find that all of our candy packets that we had left on the front porch had been taken. That means we had over 50 trick-or-treaters! Yea!!
As always, the kids got a ton of candy. Even after I took this picture, I realized that we hadn't dumped Kaylee's candy into the mix AND that Camden's Dad had left all of their candy for us as well. Ugh... I hope we won't be seeing more of our dentist in the near future!!!
